Job Description

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - To £58K, 35 hours a week, flexible working hours and as much autonomy as you desire.

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll be involved in a range of commercial offices, iconic listed buildings, universities, and hospitals.

You'll join a stable team and have direct access to the Chartered Mechanical Director, three Mechanical Associates (most of whom are also Chartered) and support from a team of Engineers, Intermediates and Juniors / Trainees.

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll be involved in the design, specification, and supervision of mechanical building services (HVAC). You'll work directly with end user clients and be seen as a trusted partner throughout all stages of their buildings' lifecycle, from feasibility, concept design, construction, post occupancy and ongoing maintenance and operation.

This will ensure you become a well-rounded engineer that understands not just the commercial drivers behind property investment and construction, but how a building is designed, operates, and is maintained.

Requirements

  • At least four (4) years' experience in HVAC Design, within a consultancy or design and build contractor.
  • Be wiling to work from their London office three (3) days a week.
  • Be able to lead a project technically.
  • Willing to mentor less experienced Engineers.

    Key requirements

    • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Architectural and Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
    • At least eight years' experience in the built environment, working for a consultancy.
    • Good appreciation of sustainability and net zero carbon design.
    • Ability to mentor and develop multidisciplinary professional teams.
    • Comfortable leading teams and engaging with clients.
