MEP Revit Technician

Up to £35000 per annum 25 days, pension, CPD, flexible hours

Job Description

MEP Building Services Revit Technician - To £45K Package

Due to continued growth across the UK and a steady influx of additional projects, we have an immediate need for a Revit MEP Technician to join this international Building Services consultancy.

Based in their funky, open plan studio near Kings Cross you will enjoy working in a very collaborative and design led environment on a range of hotel, mixed-use, large scale residential, education and commercial office projects from RIBA Stages 2-4.

Reporting to the BIM / CAD Manager you will be responsible for taking 2D drawings and Engineers mark ups and creating fully coordinated Revit MEP models from scratch following PAS 1192-2 standards. Depending on the client's requirements, complexity of project and allocated fees these models will be to LOD200 or LOD300. As you progress you will take on more responsibility for coordination MEP Services, assisting with creating Revit families, schedules and templates, carrying out clash detection checks using Navis works, presenting the Revit models to the clients and also assisting the company's virtual reality and visualisation services.

This is a great opportunity for a MEP Revit Technician to become a valued member of a very vibrant and social team and work on a broad range of architecturally led, UK and international projects. As the role develops you will have the opportunity of being mentored by the MEP Design Engineers and developing some design skills; however, if this doesn't appeal and you would prefer to focus on a pure Revit / BIM role that's fine.

The ideal MEP Revit Technician will have at least three years' full time experience using Revit MEP, can manage their own time efficiently, can work as part of a team and can draw all MEP Services into a Revit model with limited supervision.

In addition to a salary up to £45K they also offer 25 days leave, pension, overtime, ongoing CPD, weekly social activities, an early finish on the last Friday of the month, flexible working times (with option of starting at 8am, 9am or 10am) and a unique working environment.

I'm looking for a BIM Coordinator from a Building Services (MEP) Design background to join this multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy in London.

  • list Mechanical Design Engineer

Mechanical (Building Services) Engineer - To £48K

Quality of delivery, quality of staff, innovative projects, and a great company culture. These are the founding principles of this multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy based near Liverpool Street.

Quality runs deep through the practice, and every project is overseen by a director all the way through the various RIBA stages. They produce quality designs that are low in energy and carbon, are properly coordinated and, actually fit within the space that was allocated by the client.

In terms of recruitment, they only employ permanent staff with stable employment histories, as they would prefer to turn work away rather than employing average engineers to just churn out poor quality designs.

Innovation exists across everything they do, they analyse every completed project, compare how the building is performing in use, and then use building performance engineering to improve the next project. They also continuously research and invest in new and emerging technologies, in order to make their existing software, processes or templates more efficient.

And, they also adopt a bold approach to building design, never shying away from the opportunity of trying something totally new, to solve an issue or overcome a challenge. Recent examples include their use of stone bearing masonry rather than steel, their investment in R&D into the use of advanced phase change materials or their ability to use CLT on larger, complex structures.

In terms of culture, the founding partners remain hands on and actively encourage all employees to make suggestions on how things can be improved. They operate an open plan studio environment, with MEP Engineers siting alongside the structural engineers, civil engineers, and BIM staff, which ensures constant collaboration. They have weekly and monthly social activities, and provide all staff with an annual bonus, and an annual salary review and increase.

As an Mechanical Engineer, you'll get involved in designing and modelling a variety of low carbon, interesting buildings such as theatres, museums, galleries, schools, castles, cinemas, offices, churches, universities, and data centres.

You'll work as part of a friendly, experienced, and supportive team of around 30 engineers on one off projects, typically from concept all the way through to construction.

You will attend design team and site meetings, and liaise directly with clients, architects, and specialist external consultants. You will also carry out heating and cooling loads, size plants, ducts, or pipes, use Revit MEP to produce 3D models, and also ensure all projects adhere to CIBSE guidelines, British standards and also promote a circular economy.

    • Previous experience working directly with Architects.
    • Comfortable communicating technical terms, to a non-technical audience.
