Intermediate Mechanical Engineer

£33000 - £40000 per annum fully remote, up to £40K, autonomy

Job Description

Intermediate Mechanical (HVAC) Design Engineer - To £40K profit share package fully remote role

Are you a Junior (Grad 1, Grad 2) Mechanical (Building Services) or an Intermediate Mechanical (Building Services) Design Engineer looking for a fully remote role?

The role has arisen due to growth within this small, but stable and extremely profitable Building Services Consultancy who utilise AI, Machine Learning and BIM to design and deliver exceptional projects on behalf of their clients. Led by a Chartered and Degree qualified Director who has worked for both consultancies and contractors, they provide a unique service offering and bridge the gap that most other consultancies are not able to provide.

As an Intermediate Mechanical Building Services Consultancy within a small business; you'll be involved in every aspect of a project. This will include working from feasibility, through detailed design, overseeing the installation or construction phases and post occupancy evaluations.

You'll learn not just how to design a building, but how every different component goes together and develop into a very well-rounded Building Services Engineer. You'll develop new skills in bidding, resource planning and allocation, project management, client management, business development, and building performance engineering.

You'll be fully supported by a hands-on director, whilst you enjoy full freedom and autonomy to lead your own projects; both technically and also from a financial point of view. So long as your projects are making good profit, you'll be rewarded with an additional bonus of around £500 (in addition to your guaranteed basic salary of up to £40K) per month.

Projects will include major decarbonisation and heat recovery projects with blue chip firms, CAT B office fit outs, surgeries, large industrial buildings and upgrades of listed and cultural buildings.

You will be fully supported in the role, but not micromanaged and enjoy the opportunity of liaising directly with architects, contractors and end users, something that just isn't available when working in large, corporate engineering consultancies.

In addition to a basic salary of up to £40K they also offer;

  • Up to 30 days annual leave (plus bank holidays).
  • Annual bonus of up to 10%.
  • 1 x company funded, holiday abroad.
  • Payment of 1 x Professional Membership
  • A fully remote role so you can work from home five days a week.

Essential Requirements

  • 2 years' experience as a mechanical (HVAC / Building Services) design engineer.
  • Previous experience working for a Building Services consultancy or multi-disciplinary.
  • Must be able to attend site meetings and client meetings around London and the Southeast.
  • Must be a resident of the UK.
